PRE & POST TREATMENT

PRE PREP- BROWS

NUMBING IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR TREATMENT

DUE TO CHANGES IN VICTORIAN LAW - You are required to NUMB YOUR EYEBROWS PRIOR to your EYEBROW APPOINTMENT. You will need to buy a small tube of Emla or LMX, at the cost of approx $18, from your local chemist.

ONE HOUR before your tattoo appointment, you should apply nearly all the tube of Emla cream to your brows and then cover it with glad wrap or apply the patch from the chemist.

Follow the instructions carefully. The glad wrap stops the cream from drying out and is more effective than the patch or leaving the cream exposed to the air.

Arrive at your appointment with the glad wrap or patch on.

Most people fold the glad wrap into a long strip and clip it to either side of your hair line to keepit on your eyes. If the numbing cream is not applied correctly it won’t work. You do not have touse any numbing cream, however if it is not used the beginning of the treatment can be painful.

You can wear a pair of sunglasses to your treatment, which will help to cover the cream on the brows.

I use a numbing solution ONCE THE TREATMENT HAS STARTED which numbs the skin well.

YOUR CLIENT HISTORY FORM

For all Colour Boost Sessions, we ask that clients inform us OF ANY CHANGES to their Health, Wellness or Medications since their last session. It is YOUR responsibility to notify us of ANY ALTERATIONS, so we can ensure your safety. We will otherwise assume all Health and Wellness conditions have not changed.

ARRIVING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please remember that this procedure requires time and care and Clare runs strictly to time. This process should NEVER be rushed. We allow time for each step to be conducted in a careful and safe way. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE TO YOUR SESSION and allow plenty of time for Parking etc. We are unable to perform the treatment on any clients that arrive more than 10 mins late, as this puts extreme pressure on Clare, when she is performing a treatment that requires skill and time. Please be considerate and arrive relaxed and on time.

PARKING

You will need to ensure you have a minimum of 2 hours 15 mins parking for your initial Brow, Liner or Lip appointment. There is 2-hour parking located on St Vincents Place, Canterbury Road and Montague Street. Please allow plenty of time to find parking. If you are attending a "Perfecting Session" a 1 hour park should suffice and these are allocated directly outside the salon on Bridport Street and surrounds.

CHILDREN AND FRIENDS

Please understand that the practice of Cosmetic Tattoo is a highly technical process which demands an extremely high level of concentration and skill. It is also classified as a Medical Cosmetic Enhancement.

For these reasons we cannot allow children in the treatment room or unattended in the rest of the clinic. The salon also operates as a Skin Destination where clients come to relax and unwind. Although we love children, we are unable to have them inside the treatment room for Insurance, Health and Safety purposes, as well as respecting the relaxation time for other clients.

You are welcome to bring a friend along for moral support, but we do ask that friends bought to the session, wait patiently outside of the treatment room. We do have a lovely waiting area with magazines and refreshments. We ask that the above conditions are respected throughout your treatment, this is to ENSURE that we deliver the BEST outcome possible for you as a client.

SOME HELPFUL TIPS

We highly recommend washing your hair immediately PRIOR to your Cosmetic Tattoo Treatment. This will make life a lot easier for you during the healing phase.

If you wash your hair regularly, and only have a fixed shower head you may want to consider booking in at a local salon for a basin wash.

We recommend purchasing makeup wipes, to help with facial cleansing, whilst your brows are healing. They are less cumbersome than a face towel.

POST CARE-BROWS

Your AFTERCARE is ESSENTIAL to your healing result and CAN make or break your design. If these rules are NOT followed with precision, there is a large possibility of INFECTION, BLURRED DESIGN and/or HEAVILY FADED RESULTS. Please adhere to these rules STRICTLY for the next 10 days!

We do note any pre-treatment directions that are not followed on our files and can generally tell if the brow aftercare has not been followed correctly. If these are not followed we have the right to release you from any future services.

REMEMER you have invested a lot of hard earned money into this treatment and for the sake of 10 days – we strongly advise that you follow these recommendations!

Your “Healing Time” will vary from around 7 to 10 days. You will know when your brows are healed as they will be SOFT AND SMOOTH to the touch and feel like NORMAL SKIN withABSOLUTELY NO FLAKING OR DRYNESS. Until your brows reach this “soft and smooth” stage –they are NOT healed, and you MUST continue to follow your Aftercare Instructions UNTIL then.

NOT EVERYONE will experience FLAKING during their healing time....so “how do you know they are healed?” I hear you ask! Well, if you are 7 to 10 days into your healing phase, and there are NO SIGNS of ANY DRYNESS OR FLAKING AT ALL, you are probably healed, and you can therefore stop following the Aftercare steps.

YOUR AFTERCARE STEPS

1. Your FIRST STEP - 3 hours AFTER your appointment is finished, you will need to take a warm, wet, cotton pad (squeeze out the excess water) and wipe your brows with a MEDIUM pressure 2 to 3 times on EACH side. This is to wipe away any dried blood or clear lymph fluid that can be excreted from the brows, for the first few hours. By wiping the area, you will stop it from forming a scab! The area may feel tight and tender at this moment in time. You can set a reminder on your phone, so you don’t forget this step!

2.Immediately after wiping, take a COTTON TIP, and apply 1⁄2 a pea sized blob of Bepanthan to EACH front bulb, of your brows. Gently smear the Bepanthan Cream over the brows each side, until they have a slight shine – YOU DO NOT NEED TO APPLY AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT – just enough to hydrate your brows. Less cream applied more often, is best –excessive amounts will not give the best results. In fact, too much Bepanthen can produce a poor result and unevenness in the final colour as they cannot breathe. DO NOT USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN BEPANTHAN FOR HEALING!

3. You must apply this cream 3 times a day. If you have OILY skin 1 -2 times a day is plenty, and if you have DRY skin, you may want to apply the cream 3 -4 times a day. You may notice colour rejecting on the cotton tip during application, and this is fine.

4. You must continue to use the cream, until the brows are SOFT AND SMOOTH.

5. During the HEALING TIME of 7 to 10 Days:

  • YOU MUST NOT GET THE BROWS WET

  • YOU MUST NOT EXERCISE OR GET HOT AND SWEATY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE

    – YOUR RESULTS WILL BLUR!

  • YOU MUST NOT PICK OR RUB YOUR BROWS IF THEY ARE PEELING – THIS WILL CAUSE

    PATCHY BROWS

  • YOU MUST NOT USE ANY MAKEUP OVER OR NEAR THE BROWS

  • YOU MUST NOT HAVE ANY FACIAL TREATMENTS FOR 2 WEEKS

  • YOU MUST NOT GO INTO THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR 2 WEEKS

  • YOU MUST NOT DO ANY WATERSPORTS

  • YOU MUST NOT APPLY ANY TANNING LOTIONS/RETINOLS/CREAMS near the brows

    other than Bepanthan.
